Dick Richardson
Dick Richardson grew up in Sussex, where he lived for many years before moving to the Peak District in Derbyshire. He attended Reigate Art College and went on to work as a graphic designer and a freelance artist. Dick was an accomplished musician, and from the 1960s ran his own folk club. His love of folk music, folklore, antiquarian books and local history, especially about the counties of Sussex and Derbyshire, inspired him to establish Country Books.
In 1985, Dick founded Country Books, specialising in local history, folklore, and facsimile editions of rare and forgotten out of print books. As well as helping many authors turn manuscripts into printed books, Dick produced many titles in his own right. We strive to continue Dick’s legacy.
