Lady Iris Watts
Lady Iris Watts is the daughter of a professional musician and was educated at Newnham College Cambridge where she read History. She married a diplomat and travelled a great deal throughout her married life and later on she taught Creative Writing in Chichester. She now lives in a Sussex Village and is interested in local history.
She has written twelve novels in her retirement, mostly Romantic adventure stories set in exotic locations but the last four are set in Tudor times and feature Lord Nicholas Peverell who gets involved in local criminal activities. These books were published by Piatkus (Now part of Little Brown Books) and still circulate in public libraries.
In later life she has taken to writing children’s stories, the recent one, Albert, a Country Cat, published by Country books (Part of Spiral Publishing Ltd). Her previous books, Thomas the Priory Cat, Theo’s Magic Garden and Angels on Call are all published by Country Books.
