Those Splendid Memories

In 1892, a Russian family emigrate to America with the hope of beginning a wonderful new life together. But when both parents die prematurely, the children are taken into an orphanage. Despite this terrible ordeal, Anatole and Mariska move forward through life with hope and vivacity. As they grow up, they form a vaudeville act which tours North and South America, and eventually throughout Europe.

This is just the beginning of a life filled with wonder for Anatole. An adventurer at heart, he seeks out new experiences. After being shanghaied to China, he works his way home through the Far East, across Australia and the Pacific, before joining the army to fight first in the Mexican War, and then in the Great War, on the bloodstained battlefields of Europe. Upon his return, he becomes one of the early pioneers of cinematography and finds his true calling in the documentation of wildlife. Those Splendid Memories is an adventure story of epic proportions.
